Ritenour Wins at Another Track That Ends in "A" at Iowa!

Another week is in the books for the ITRL Arca Series Summer Shootout following the second race of the eight race season, the Iowa Corn 150. 26 drives fired up the engines and took the green flag behind the #1 car of Josh Ball who won the pole. The race featured another long green flag run to star the race with the drivers going caution free until lap 103 which caught some drivers out during the pit sequence. During the green flag run, newcomer Hank Castin led 60 laps but was caught 2 laps down during the pit cycle. He was able to recover for a 4th place finish. Josh Ball led the most laps with 69 on the night and looked to have the race in hand until a couple of late cautions pushed us into two G-W-C attempts. Ball survived the first G-W-C, but got loose off of turn 2 on the second attempt sliding down into Matt Cherry, relegating Ball to a 16th place finish, and Cherry to 14th. In the end it was Ray Ritenour II taking the checkers for his first win of the season, and his first in the Arca Series. Kelvin Masur and Keegan Sobilo rounded out the top 3. Keegan Sobilo heads to Kansas still as the points leader with an 8 point advantage over Masur. The Stay Tuned Sports Arca Series presented by MaxSpeedTV will next be hitting the 1.5 mile banks of Kansas Speedway on July 26th for the third race of the season.
