Although he didn’t make the post season, Bayley Currey is proving he will be a thorn in the side of the title contenders during these playoffs! The Bayley Currey Racing driver/owner held off Dave Matson and Brandon Pamatat to win his first World 200 in a caution free race in Japan that also saw Josh Ball score his first Haulin Ass pole award of the season! For the second week in a row, Currey wins in dominating fashion, leading a race high 103 laps en route to his second win of the season, 6th Rush win, and a record breaking 21st career ITRL victory! It will be a tough challenge to get 3 in a row at Talladega next week for Currey as we have an elimination race at a superspeedway. Japan was a rough track for some playoff drivers as Branden Kloosterhuis, Josh Culley, Ray Ritenour and Sean Boundy all find themselves on the outside looking in with 1 race left in the round. The #1 seed Storm Patterson fell to 8th with just a 1 point cushion after a DNF in Motegi. Any of the 12 drivers can guarantee themselves a spot in the Elite 8 with a win next week in Alabama.
