Ray Ritenour Makes History as the First Ever Two-Time Premier Series Champion!

The season three Premier Series champion has had multiple up and down seasons since winning his first title, but Tuesday night in Kansas the superspeedway ace Ray Ritenour II closed the deal on both the race and the championship to become the first driver ever to win multiple Premier Series championships! The driver of the #87 Lucky Dawgs Chevy fought all night after starting seventh to take the lead in the late stages to pick up his 3rd win of the year and the championship. Ritenour led 24 laps and became the second champion to win the final race in Premier Series history! Ritenour won three of the final eight races, including the regular season finale at Atlanta and the second round playoff race at Daytona, where he punched his ticket to Kansas where he grabbed the win and his second ITRL VRX Simulators Premier Series championship!

Adding to his other ITRL Premier Series championship, Ray Ritenour strung together a solid championship run in his 8th full time Premier season, he racked up 3 wins, 7 top 5’s, 12 top 10’s, 4 poles, 5 stage wins, an average finish of 7.5, and 198 laps led in 17 starts. This is also his 5th Premier Series victory and 13th overall ITRL checkered flag! He held off a strong Storm Patterson for the win, who led a race high 71 laps after starting third and finished 2nd in points. Josh Culley would be the next championship contender in 3rd who finished top 4 in the standings for the second straight season. Eric Drapeau picked up his 5th Haulin’ Ass Pole Award of the season and claims the season title for most Haulin’ Ass poles. Sippin Shine Racing wins their first drivers championship and their first team championship. Adam Boyles wins the All Gas TV Rookie of the Year Award while Chevy wins the OEM title for the third consecutive year!
